no sorry talush... i hate pseudo artist who build their carreer on a misunderstanding with their audience!!!
all his carreer is based on his(disgusting) covers..........
this guy is in my opinion very mediocre and musically vulgar and a quiet big swindler....

infiltrate 202...wasn't that the one based on a 'pacific state' sample?

swings and roundabouts, really.

he used the lyrics AND the same melody so this is not an original creation it's a cover......but he didn't say it s a cover...so we call that an illegal plagiarism....ok????
but anyway talush go back to sleep....   :)

So far it's a white label, so how the hell do you know that he's passed it off as his own?

Calm down.

relax. alten8 were cheeky kids who liked to take the piss out of everything, and sample everything. and sample 808 state they did.

the vocal in infiltrate 202 is "different story" by bowa the italian piano classic.

i posted them here if you want

this is not a very polite thing to say, even if you stick a :) at the end...

you are kinda right about tiga, though... his two biggest hits so far (hot in herre, sunglasses at night) were covers. I don't think this is very creative, but what he did with the songs was good... and I respect him as a producer and not as a musician.

I haven't heard this new song you mention, but I have no reason not to believe you. he's not the first nor the last artist to build a career on covers. so if you don't like it, just don't listen to it - at least that's what I'd do.

and please, calm down...

x

I remember when we used to listen to that Altern8 track at sixth form college and think that during those "I'm on a mission" bits he was actually saying "Mogadishu"  because the Somalian capital was all over the news at the time. I think we mistook that track for protest song. Those were the days.

And coming back to the Tiga thing, so what?

I love pretty much all of his solo stuff, couldn't give a rats ass whether they are covers or not, plus which, his best 2 tracks by far (popularity is no indication of quality) are Burning Down and Pleasure From The Bass. Neither of which are covers. Closely followed by the TGV ep which is original tracks too.

There are only 2 of the mixes he's done that I like less than the original tracks concerned. (Shake Yer Dicks and Comfortably Numb) That's a very high ratio for any remixer.

The covers that he has done are often better than the originals too. I mean, have you actually heard Corey Hart's version of Sunglasses At Night??

Fair enough to slag someone off if they do covers that are worse than the original or indistinguishable from the original. And there are plenty of those around. But Tiga invariably takes his covers somewhere new and puts a new perspective on the track. You don't think it takes skill to IMPROVE on an original track?

Plus which, by all accounts he's a thoroughly nice chap and all round decent bloke.

Big up the Tiga man. :-)

Drexciya, you also seem to forget that Tiga is "quoting" Altern8/Bowa during the chorus only : the rest of his rap is totally original.

He usually works with somebody.

TGV = Tiga & Mateo Murphy
Tiga & Zyntherius = Tiga & Jori Hulkonnen
The Fairy = Tiga & Jesper Dahlback

Some of the stuff just under Tiga's name is collaborations with others too.

actually,
The single artwork has the following, and only, dedication to
'Altern 8.. pioneers, visionaries, teachers..'
'This record started as a simple idea from an old rave track that changed my life...'

sorry drexciya,

Pleasure from the Bass has a similar dedication to W. Axl Rose for appropriation of some G'n'R lyrics (Welcome to the Jungle)

i was just about to mention what kemper has just written, and also point out that Altern 8 sampled Candy Staton for that little hook line which is used on the Tiga track. but what you are acusing Tiga of could be levelled against 50% of all the hip hop/r&b music released.

to answer and not to be controversial, please know ,izimbra, that people can be disagree with you, for example;"sunglasses at night" is as opposed of my perception of "cool and quality music" as north to south...

this is all getting so heated!
can we discuss religion or politics instead of Tiga?
I'll start: is the pope a catholic?

*runs off to listen to Tiga record out of sight from drexyia*

to answer and not to be controversial, please know my dear epidemic that the original one...altern 8-infiltrate 202 is as far as i m concerned an infinite number billions of times more touching and exciting even today!...than this" ridiculous, laboriously insipid cheap- cheap -hollow ritornello of TITIGAGA.........

"everybody is beautifull, everybody is nice.....in the best of the world....".......but SORRY SHEET EXISTS.

thanx for your attention.........LOVE.........( and truth.....)

Hasn't it already been demonstrated that the altern-8 track is not in any way, shape or form 'original'? You seem to be picking fault with Tiga over issues which altern-8 are also 'guilty' of. Which perplexes me somewhat, but not unduly so.

I wasn't referring to this track with that comment on Tiga's covers either, having never heard the altern-8 track.

In short, I love Tiga's stuff, you seem to have some issues over your perception of his credibility or lack thereof.

I suggest you switch to decaf.
