Amen. Why waste energy on this?
Best punishment for a mediocre artist is to ignore him.

We all know that Jeff Mills is much better than Tiga.

i've never got Jeff Mills. too fast. can't dance to it. maybe his earlier stuff is slower, i don't know it. the Underground Resistance stuff i like is the  funky, jazzy Mad Mike stuff - Millenium to Millenium, Galaxy to Galaxy..

CORNEL,

i repeat,i do not consider it as a waste of time cause my only purpose was to inform people on this website of that "new hidden cover" ( and i respect a lot altern 8...)
and i was right cause only few persons noticed it......

bite away, cornel,  i m globally agree with your point of view BUT !!! (except of his djing which can be qualify for me by the word;"banal".....

can you really consider this charlatan TITGAGA (as you say) as a good A & R when he's promoting such an horrible thing as chromeo????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????..........

I'm not into Chromeo. Not because I think they're crap but it's not my style.
On the other hand I love quite a few stuff of Turbo.
It's quite funny as me and Tranq had a bit of a DJing session at my place on Sunday and I particularily played him 2 Turbo releases I really really like. One was by Drama Society 'liars' and 'polaroid' on its flip.
Then there's John ward's "street smash" 12"  (especially the Hulkonen rmx of Shadows)  and not forget the classic martini Bros release of "Flash" (here I'd vote for Tiga's amazing uber rmx of it).
That's just of my head right now.

But yeah Chromeo - not for me, too but then running a label being into music is very persoanl and doesn't have to be for everyones taste.
The fact that some people like it means he must've done something right.
Just buy what YOU like. Leav ethe rest in the shop. Works for me :)

x

Again, there's no way you can state this until it has been properly released, when any credits would be stated on the cover. Your suggestion is that he has somehow attempted to fool people into thinking this is an original track. You show me a statement or press release that claims it to be an entirely new piece and I'll agree with you. Other than that you're making an issue where one doesn't exist.

>except of his djing which can be qualify for me by the word;"banal".....

Well it's becoming clear that you really hate the guy. There are many reports of his great and fun DJ'ing at many places, including Trash.

Well, I happen to love Chromeo too. It's a matter of individual tastes. If you don't like eighties funk then you're not going to like Chromeo. End of.

Is it me or am I getting DarkSoul and Technofreak flashbacks here?

Tiga's been superb last two times he's played trash. His DJ Kicks is just about my fave mix compilation.

epidemic ,be sure i do not hate tiga ...i don' t care ......and i can prove it; i 've bought one turbo record few yers ago !!!
it was guilliron & mc arthur - now it's dark..........
i just hate pseudo artist who build their reputation on the talent of others real artists....he only does covers , one its ok, two why not....but in the case of titigaga, each time it's a cover,it s TOO MUCH!......
in my opinion people know the name tiga no thanks to his talent but thanks to his swindle...

phew - not stealing from others and being 'original' is sometimes overrated. let junior senior or jason forrest or jamie lidell teach you. ;)
it takes creative talent to make good cover versions if they are meant to be new interpretations.
it also takes creativity and inspiration to mix a  crowdrocking dj set. maybe a different kind of creativity but you can't deny that there's also some spark of magic about some djs' sensitivity in how they musically interact with a crowd.
i don't think tiga's covers are very exciting but i like a lot of his (re)mixing work.
oh, and the best pop acts always were half music / half image (or: half toys for our imagination).
isn't it like that the artists that are mainly about making outstanding innovative and influential music hardly ever are well recieved by a large audience?
it's not a matter of one of those things being 'better', it's just different facets of what can be great about music.

And so I did...
And yes I'm crying at the moment.

The thing is, Altern-8 is cheese too as far as I'm concerned.

Sean.....that's hysterical.

Drexciya, I totally hear where you're coming from. But it's like the Tiga fanclub around here. He plays at Trash. You really can't expect people to agree with you on this because the club is someone who books him so it stands to reason that in general, you're dissing one of their own.  Personally, i think Tiga is such a non-event for about 10 million reasons, it's beyond belief, but I'm not going to start arguing with people why that is. As Cornel pointed out - he's hardly a big star or whatever.

Despite how I feel about "his" music, I'm sure he's someone who is 100% dedicated and loves music, which is more than we can say about most people in the biz getting paid. I will say emphatically that he can't sing to save his fucking life though. and I have no idea what this song is. I'll try to work it out if I'm out and about.

Christ...if this is the song I am thinking of (I think I have just worked out which one it was cos i heard it at Our Disco and then Munk played it last night...and I thought "what is this shit?" and stopped dancing and when it came on from Munk, I thought "christ...this must be some new big song...it's fucking horrible" - this is such a revelation as I'm working it out whilst typing! I knew the chorus and knew it was a cover, but yes..it probably is an altern 8 cover!!! ha, ha!) It's absolutely fucking dreadful and caused me to stop dancing both times I heard it AND to comment to my mate on the dancefloor "sorry, i can't dance to this, it's shite".

If this is the song yr talking about, god...Tiga song. figures!

Sorry to offend all you bouncy cat lovers, but....I was even on drugs both nights and stopped dancing, and I'm a crap raver who enjoys Crazy Frog. And it was too shit for me to dance to....
